I am told that Ocracoke Island is not named because some enterprising early 20th century state fair entry combined the famous soda pop with a southern-fried delicacy. I intend to find out the truth of said naming and delve into the legend of Blackbeard during a much needed few days off starting bright and early tomorrow morning.
