Pereseverance, as they say, is the staff that stars are made of. That is if you are talking about unushered hip hop artiste, Cosmas Tobaiwa Hove - pet name Cosie Deoxythymidine Monophosphate - who like the proverbial phoenix, have risen from the ashes of three unsuccessful record albums to claim stewardship of the local hip hop arena.
His current video, Pretty Girl - taken off his up-to-the-minute record album Natural Intelligence - have thrust him onto the limelight in as far as local hip hop is concerned, that is if its popularity on telecasting music programs such as as Rhythm Unlimited and Adolescent Scene is anything to go.
Those who have got got watched the picture will have small uncertainty that the interregnum that had been created in local hip hop circles following the disappearing of talented "players" such as as Mudiwa and his ilk, have finally been filled. The video, whose statute title states it all, turns out that it is far from being a good luck considering the quality and standard that was invested into it. By merely watching it, one can easily state that it is a merchandise that is put to travel places, considering its cosmopolite appeal.
But, who exactly is this artiste?
"I am person who have always had the passionateness and love for music. I was working in the touristry industry in Queen Victoria Waterfall as a circuit usher and driver. "While this job, to many, shows illimitable chances to do a speedy fiscal spinoff, but to me this was not adequate to define and do my dreamings come up true," he explained.
He discovered that tourers were thoroughly an entertainment-loving people. "Seeing this, I would always inquire myself why I was letting my endowment travel to waste. Luckily, I had a opportunity meeting with Innocent Utsiwegota who offered me a free contract at his Country Male Child Records. The consequence was my introduction album, Zvimwe Ndakadyiswa." Unfortunately, the record record album was a colossal flop. "It also suffered because I was staying far away from Harare, where it all happens," he said. His sophomore release, Amalgamated Bag (2005), also suffered the same fate, prompting the instrumentalist to relocate to the working capital a twelvemonth later.
But that was not the end of his star-crossed fate when his untitled 3rd record album recorded last twelvemonth never saw the visible light of twenty-four hours after the instrumentalist himself had gone to South Africa in pursuit of greener pastures, leaving no 1 to force for its release. But the 24-year-old rapper never despaired until he finally recorded and released his up-to-the-minute project, Natural Intelligence, that transports the path for the hot picture Pretty Girl.
